From Tuesday 15 July 2025, students applying for the Short-term study visa (and the Child/student visa) will no longer receive a vignette (visa sticker) in their passports.

The latest data from QUIC reveal that UK ELT student weeks in Q1 2025 reached 71% of Q1 2019 levels. While this is down slightly on Q1 2024, the figures align with the recovery pace seen in Q4 2024.

14 MPs and three members of the House of Lords attended the launch of our policy position paper this year, our highest level of parliamentary engagement to date.  

We welcomed 150 of our members in person and 30 more online to our English UK 2025 Members' Conference and AGM. The message from our chief executive, Jodie Gray, was clear: "We are stronger when we work together."

The UK-EU reset deal is very promising for UK ELT, but we will need to continue campaigning – with members' help – to achieve everything we want.
